The
Statewide Traffic Records Coordinating Committee's (STRCC) Strategic
Plan and TraCS Evaluation Pilot Project were developed in 2002 and
adopted by the STREOC and STRCC on December 12, 2002. ..
The
Strategic Plan was developed using information from the STREOC and
STRCC membership, 1993 and 1996 DWI records assessments, the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)1999 NM Traffic Records
Assessment, the NHTSA Model Impaired Driving Records Information
System, Iowa's National Model, and the State of New Mexico's Information
Technology Strategic Plan. In addition, STRCC staff conducted in-depth
interviews with participating STRCC agencies. This information gathering
process was crucial to fully understanding the traffic records goals
and objectives of these agencies and to identifying pilot agency
participants. Interviews with additional agencies are ongoing to
continue to build a knowledge base of current traffic record initiatives
and contacts in the State.
The
STRCC Strategic Plan is a working document that will be modified
periodically as additional stakeholder agency information is collected
through interviews. The 2006 Traffic Records Assessment will be used to update the Strategic Plan in the near future.
The

New Mexico Department of Transportation's, Traffic Safety Bureau.
